SOLD – Akira Ishikawa & The Gentures LP – Golden Drum (1969)
One of the toughest late sixties releases by cult Japanese drummer and band leader Akira Ishikawa, in my opinion. Here accompanied by his band The Gentures, he once again ventures into covers of soul, funk, jazz and rock and roll classics. If you dig drum breaks and solos as well as strong big band numbers that can lift up spirits and legs, then you’re in for a treat!
I personally included two tracks from this LP on my latest mix, so this one is a keeper.
